Independent Study 5

Today is the tenth class in our current seventeen-class set. We will begin class with our writing. Let's try to write about another coworker biography. 

The phrase of the week is, "instant and cheap gratification." We use this phrase to describe something that makes us feel good quickly. For example, "Watching TV is instant gratification."

Today's reading is about food trends in Korea. The vocabulary words will come from the reading. Please be able to describe them. 

Vocabulary

  • incorporate- (verb) take in or contain (something) as part of a whole; include.
  • bulk- (noun) a large mass or shape, for example of a building or a heavy body. OR large in quantity or amount. OR the majority or greater part of something.  
  • appease - (verb) pacify or placate (someone) by acceding to their demands. relieve or satisfy (a demand or a feeling).
  • gourmand- (noun) a person who enjoys eating and often eats too much.  a connoisseur of good food.
