Independent Study 4

I hope you enjoyed our little break. Today is the first class in our new four class set.

The phrase of the week is, "has nothing to do with it." We use this phrase to tell that something is not related to what is being discussed. For example, "I'm sorry we have to let you go, your performance had nothing to do with our decision." The for the opposite situation we would say "has everything to do with it."

Our reading today is about self-awareness and our listening material is about a Japanese rock group that sings about food. Please listen and create examples for the vocabulary words.

Vocabulary

  • soul food- The term "Soul Food" may have originated in the mid-1960s, when soul was a common word used to describe Black American culture
