ERT Saturday Edition

I hope everybody enjoyed our short break. Today is the first class in our new four class set. We will begin class with unit 82 in our grammar book.

The phrase of the week is, "this is the case." We use this phrase to say something is true or correct. For example, "I often feel shy. This is the case when I meet new people."

Today's reading is about scarcity and our listening material is about the productivity paradox. Please listen for and create examples for the vocabulary words.

Vocabulary

  • abundant- existing or available in large quantities; plentiful.
  • flabbergasted- surprise (someone) greatly; astonish
  • incremental- denoting a small positive or negative change in a variable quantity or function.
  • pessimist- a person who tends to see the worst aspect of things or believe that the worst will happen.
