Today is the first class of our new four-class set. We will begin with a collocations exercise.  Our reading this week is about the VW Bug and our listening is a not so feel good story from Dr. Phil.

I will collect your writing at the end of class for the listening material. The vocabulary words will come from our reading. Please be able to recognize them in class. 

For our listening material, I want you to write a paragraph about your reaction to the story. I will collect the paragraph and edit it for you. This is an open topic, so you can write about whatever you want.

precipice - (noun) a very steep rock face or cliff, typically a tall one.

dwindling - (verb) diminish gradually in size, amount, or strength.

homage - (noun) special honor or respect shown publicly.
