Today is the second class in our current four-class set. We will begin class with our collocations exercise. Our reading this week is about American couples asking for cash in lieu of wedding gifts. America is becoming more like Korea. The vocabulary words will come from our reading. Be able to identify them in class.

Eschew- (verb) deliberately avoid using; abstain from.
tacky- (adj) showing poor taste and quality. ALSO, sticky
altruistic - (adj) showing a disinterested and selfless concern for the well-being of others; unselfish.
