Today is the second class in our current four-class set. The phrase of the week is, "a puncher's chance." People also use the phrase, "a boxers chance." This phrase means that anything is possible and that there is always a chance for something unexpected to happen. For example, "It might be a long shot, but we have a puncher's chance. Maybe we will get lucky."

The reading this week is about digital advertising trends. Our listening material is another dialogue. This one is about making suggestions. The vocabulary words will come from the reading. Please be able to describe them in class. We will practice the dialogue in class several times. 

Vocabulary

• concede - (verb) admit that something is true or valid after first denying or resisting it. OR surrender or yield (something that one possesses).
• omnichannel - (adj) denoting or relating to a type of retail that integrates the different methods of shopping available to consumers (e.g., online, in a physical store, or by phone).
• consolidation- (noun) the action or process of making something stronger or more solid. OR the action or process of combining a number of things into a single more effective or coherent whole. OR the action or process of combining a number of financial accounts or funds into a single overall account or set of accounts.
• programmatic- (adj) of the nature of or according to a program, schedule, or method.
