Independent Study 12

Today is the last class in our current four-class set. The phrase of the week is, "pawn off." We use this phrase in a negative way when we give responsibility to someone else. For example, "I was supposed to buy my mom a gift, but I pawned it offed to my brother." We can also use this phrase in a literal sense and actually pawn something off at a pawn shop. People will bring their valuable items to a pawn shop and receive a cash loan. If they are not able to pay back the loan, the shop will keep their valuables.

Today's reading is about underperformers on a team. The listening material is an audio clip from Japanese businesswoman Tomoko Namba, the CEO of DeNA. The vocabulary words will come from the reading. Please be able to describe them.
