In Depth Discussion

Today is the third class in our current four-class set. We will begin with a review of our Latin root words.

The phrase of the week is, "tailor-made." We use this word when something fits perfectly, just how a tailor perfectly measures your clothes. For example, "I am tailor-made for teaching English in Korea."

Today's reading is about the Garlic Girls and our listening material is about the Dunning Kruger Effect. Our vocabulary words came from the listening material- please be able to describe them to the class.

Vocabulary

  • warp- (verb) become or cause to become bent or twisted out of shape, typically as a result of the effects of heat or dampness.
  • unprecedented- (adj) never done or known before.
  • ignorance (noun) lack of knowledge or information.
  • strive- (verb) make great efforts to achieve or obtain something.
