Our phrase of the week is, "serious breach ." We like to use this term when someone has broken a rule or has done something wrong. For example, "When my brother lied to me it was a serious breach of trust."
Today's reading is about cross-cultural management in South Korea. Keep in mind that this is written for foreigners working in Korean companies. There is a lot to agree and disagree with. I want to know your opinion. Please be able to explain the vocabulary words. The vocabulary words will come from the reading. Our listening material will be an interview with Siemens CEO Joe Kaeser.
Vocabulary
- meticulous- (adj) showing great attention to detail; very careful and precise.
- protocol- (noun) the accepted or established code of procedure or behavior in any group, organization, or situation.
- amenable- (adj) (of a person) open and responsive to suggestion; easily persuaded or controlled.
- paternalistic- (adj) relating to or characterized by the restriction of the freedom and responsibilities of subordinates or dependents in their supposed interest.
