In Depth Discussion (Red 2)

Welcome back. Today is the first class in our new four-class set. We will begin class with our Latin roots.

The phrase of the week is, "a fortnight earlier." A fortnight indicates two weeks prior. For example, "We stayed a fortnight in Guam." Our vacation was 14 days.

Today's reading is about Van Gogh and our listening material is about seltzer. Please be able to describe the vocabulary words.

Vocabulary

  • catapult- (verb) hurl or launch (something) in a specified direction
  • viable- (adj) capable of working successfully; feasible.
  • sensation- (noun) a physical feeling or perception resulting from something that happens to or comes into contact with the body.
