ERT Saturday Edition

                        Today is the third class in our current four class set. Today's grammar unit is unit 84. 

                         The phrase of the week is, "putting your foot in it." This phrase describes saying something that you automatically regret. For example, "I shouldn't have discussed politics with my family, I really put my foot in it." We can also use, "stepped in it." We will also quickly discuss the phrases, "get my foot in the door" and "foot in the mouth."

                           Today's reading is about what not to do in a job interview. Our reading is about the preparation for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Please listen and create examples for the vocabulary words. 

Vocabulary

  • venue- the place where something happens, especially an organized event such as a concert, conference, or sports event.
  • rounds- (as a noun) an act of visiting each of a number of people or places. OR a circular piece of a particular substance. OR ammunition. (as a verb)- pass and go around (something) so as to move on in a changed direction. OR alter (a number) to one less exact but more convenient for calculations.
  • howling- producing a long, loud, doleful cry or wailing sound.
  • horizons- the line at which the earth's surface and the sky appear to meet.OR the
