Today is the first class in our current four-class set. We will begin class with our catchphrase speaking exercise. 

The phrase of the week is, "get real." This is a casual way to say, 'be realistic.' For example, "you need to start getting real about this relationship."

Today's reading is about mental contrasting. The listening material is a story about two men who strike up a friendship and start making art again. Please be able to explain the vocabulary words. 

Vocabulary

• photogenic- adj- (especially of a person) looking attractive in photographs or on film.
• pursue- verb- follow (someone or something) in order to catch or attack them. OR (of a person or way) continue or proceed along (a path or route).
• proceeds- noun- money obtained from an event or activity.
• synthesized - verb- make (something) by synthesis, especially chemically. OR combine (a number of things) into a coherent whole. OR produce (sound) electronically.
