Today is the first class in our new four-class set. The phrase of the week is, "old school." This refers to an older, outdated style. We also use the term, "new school" when something is trendy. For example, "My boss is really old school."
The reading this week is about the future of T.V. Our listening material is about managing free time. I thought the listening material gave some interesting advice.
Vocabulary
- judicious- having, showing, or done with good judgment or sense.
- elastic- (of an object or material) able to resume its normal shape spontaneously after contraction, dilatation, or distortion.
- scintillating- sparkling or shining brightly. OR brilliantly and excitingly clever or skillful.
- puttering- occupy oneself in a desultory but pleasant manner, doing a number of small tasks or not concentrating on anything particular.
