Today is the third class in our current four-class set. We will begin our class with a speaking exercise.
The phrase of the week is, "rocky patch" we also like to say "rough patch." we use this phrase to mean a difficult period in one's life. For example, "She lost her job and went through a bit of a rocky patch. She is better now though."
Today's reading is about cell phones and marriage. Our listening material is about managing free time. I thought the listening material gave some interesting advice.
Vocabulary
- judicious- having, showing, or done with good judgment or sense.
- elastic- (of an object or material) able to resume its normal shape spontaneously after contraction, dilatation, or distortion.
- scintillating- sparkling or shining brightly. OR brilliantly and excitingly clever or skillful.
- puttering- occupy oneself in a desultory but pleasant manner, doing a number of small tasks or not concentrating on anything particular.
