Independent Study 2

Welcome back! This month we will study twice. Today is the first class of our shortened November two class set.

Our phrase of the week is, " but the damage had been done." We use this phrase to describe that no amount of fixing can solve the problem. For example, "It was my wife's birthday yesterday. I forgot to say, 'happy birthday' in the morning before I left for work. I remembered on my way home and bought a cake but the damage had already been done."

Today's reading is about Hyundai Motors and some of the struggles they are having. The listening material is about a doctor's views on his own terminal illness. Please listen for and make examples for the vocabulary words.

Vocabulary

  • matted
  • bittersweet
  • grapple
